Saurashtra defeated neighbors Maharashtra by 5 wickets to win India’s premier tournament in ODI cricket for the second time in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For Saurashtra, Sheldon Jackson scored a brilliant century and hit consecutive sixes and fours to make the team the champion.

Earlier, Maharashtra, who had lost the toss and batted, scored 248 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs with the help of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s century. Saurashtra chased this target with the help of Sheldon Jackson’s unbeaten century and reached the target by losing 5 wickets with 3 balls to spare.

In this final match Saurashtra team performed brilliantly in both bowling and batting.
