Legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar is considered to be one of the best batters to have ever played a game if not the best to have played the gentleman’s game. Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs in ODIs and 18,426 runs in Tests during his international career. The Master Blaster picked up his best Playing-XI in a list of some of the most celebrated cricketers which caught many off guards as he not only missed out on his name but missed out on many big names too. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is considered to be one of the best batters if not the best to have played the gentleman’s game.

The Sachin Tendulkar records speak for themselves. Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs in ODIs and 18,426 runs in Tests during his international career. Including all the formats, Sachin has a total of 100 international centuries and 201 wickets to his name. However, despite all the facts and stats, Tendulkar didn’t pick himself in his all-time best playing-XI and also not picked team India world cup winning captain MS Dhoni.

Recently, the Master Blaster picked up his best Playing-XI in a list of some of the most celebrated cricketers which caught many off guards as he not only missed out on his name but missed out on many big names too. Regarded as one of the greatest to have ever held a bat, Sachin Tendulkar picked his all-time XI and the biggest surprise was that his own name was missing from the list.

It was also surprising to see that he did not pick any player from the modern era. Tendulkar opted for Sehwag and Gavaskar as his openers, while having West Indian great Brian Lara at No 3. Another legendary West Indian made it at No 4. Sir Vivian Richards was to bat after Lara.

The middle-order featured ex-South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, former India captain Sourav Ganguly and ex-Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist. Surely, a strong middle-order to have. Sachin Tendulkar All-Time XI: The four Indians who made it to Tendulkar’s all-time XI are Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh.

Notably, the likes of MS Dhoni, who is considered as the greatest captain to have led the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli who is hailed as run machine, legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, wall of Indian cricket team- Rahul Dravid, and many more were missing from the all-time playing XI of Sachin. Known popularly as ‘God of Cricket’, Tendulkar picked two spinners in his XI.

One of them is Harbhajan and the other is, ex-Australian spin wizard Shane Warne. It was also a surprise that Tendulkar opted for merely two frontline fast-bowlers. One is ex-Pakistan captain Wasim Akram and the other happens to be former Australian pacer, Glenn McGrath. Interestingly, Tendulkar picked legendary Brian Lara, Viv Richards, Jacques Kallis, and Sourav Ganguly for the middle-order of his playing XI.

For the wicket-keeper role, Sachin picked Australian great Adam Gilchrist. In the bowling department, the little master picked some of the greats – Harbhajan Singh, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, and Glenn McGrath. The four Indians who made it to Tendulkar’s all-time XI are Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and, Harbhajan Singh. Also, Anil Kumble, MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh’s names missing could come as a surprise for fans.
