Media reported that Harshal Patel exited the bubble after getting to know about the tragedy in the family right after the game against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. Harshal has been the star performer for RCB over the past couple of seasons and took two wickets on Saturday night in the team’s seven wicket win over MI.

“Unfortunately, Harshal had to leave the bio-bubble due to a death in his family. It was his sister. He did not take the team bus back to Mumbai from Pune,” said an IPL source. “He will be rejoining the bubble before the next game against CSK on April 12.”

The 31-year-old has played eight T20Is after making his debut last year. RCB face Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. Anuj Rawat scored his maiden IPL fifty as he shared a brilliant partnership with Virat Kohli, keeping Royal Challengers Bangalore on track in the 152-chase.

The pair steadied RCB’s innings after skipper Faf du Plessis perished on just 16, and eventually helped the team register a comfortable seven-wicket win over the five-time champions. Rawat scored 66 while Kohli notched up 48.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 68 powered Mumbai Indians to 151/6 after Mumbai Indians endured a dramatic batting collapse against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bangalore put up a strong display with the ball to reduce the opposition to 63 for five.

Mumbai then slumped to 79/6 after losing six wickets for just 29 runs, and Wanindu Hasaranga struck twice and so did Harshal Patel. Suryakumar, however, notched up a valiant fifty to steer his side to a competitive total.

He scored 68* off 37 while Jaydev Unadkat notched up 13 from 14 balls. Mumbai made two changes, bringing in Unadkat in place of Tymal Mills and Ramandeep Singh replacing Daniel Sams, while RCB brought in Glenn Maxwell for Sherfane Rutherford.
