Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy picked up three wickets each but Rajat Patidar’s fifty helped Bangalore reach a competitive 157/8 in 20 overs against Rajasthan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli’s early departure led to Rajat Patidar’s arrival in the middle.

He joined captain Faf du Plessis, who eventually perished after scoring a sedate 25. Patidar went on to notch up his second straight 50-plus score while Bangalore kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Patidar top-scored for RCB with 58 while captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell chipped in with 25 and 24 respectively.

For RR, Prasidh and McCoy took three wickets apiece while Trent Boult and Ravichandran Ashwin got one each. Earlier, Rajasthan opted to field against Bangalore in the crucial game. Both teams did not make any changes to their playing eleven. The winning team will face debutants Gujarat Titans in Sunday’s final.

In Qualifier 1, Rajasthan suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans who marched into the final in their debut season. Bangalore recorded a 14-run win over the Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator to inch closer to maiden IPL crown.
