New Zealand T20 Squad announced: Kannadiga got place in team

New Zealand T20 Squad: New Zealand, who will be playing three-match T20I series against the UAE men, will travel with a second-string squad and will be without their regular players like Devon Conway, Matt Henry, Finn Allen and Glenn Philips. Instead, they have included comparatively new faces including Chad Bowes, Henry Shipley, Will Young and Cole McConchie.

Adi Ashok and Dean Foxcroft have been added to the squad as well.  Adi Ashok is one of the youngsters who have impressed in the recent New Zealand domestic season. The young spinner who recently featured in the U19 World Cup bagged 19 wickets in his debut Plunket Shield season for Auckland.

Kannadiga in New Zealand T20 Squad:

It is special that Kannadiga Rachin Ravindra is among the players selected for this series. Rachin, from Bengaluru who made his debut for the New Zealand team earliey. His parents Ravindra Krishnamurthy and Deepa Krishnamurthy, a software system architect, moved to New Zealand in 1990 and settled there by getting citizenship there.

Rachin Ravindra started his cricket career for New Zealand by competing in the 2016 and 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Also, he made his debut in international cricket by being selected for the New Zealand senior team in 2021. Rachin Ravindra, who has already played 3 Tests, 5 ODIs and 14 T20 matches for New Zealand, has now succeeded in getting a place in the team.
