Lucknow signings KL Rahul captain and 2 more player for IPL 2022

Ahead of the upcoming mega-auctions for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the two new franchises Lucknow and Ahmedabad were asked to submit three draft picks in the combination of two domestic players and a maximum of one foreign player. The deadline concerning the drafting of players for both franchises has been extended till January 22. Recently, the Lucknow franchise picked three players in form of KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi. The good news from Lucknow camp is that deal with KL Rahul as captain of the team is final. But the bad news is that team’s efforts to get Rashid Khan on board has failed.

KL Rahul finalized as captain of the team 15 Crore. Rashid Khan not signing with Lucknow & has signed with Ahmedbad. Lucknow team’s overseas player will be Marcus Stoinis 11 Crore. Ravi Bishnoi targeted as team’s 2nd domestic signing 4 Crore. Remaining Player Purse Lucknow franchise will have a player purse of INR 60 crore for February Auction.

KL Rahul started his Indian Premier League (IPL) career for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a wicketkeeper in 2013. In 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought him for Rs 1 crore at the player auction. Then he again returned to RCB in 2016, and he scored 397 runs at an average of 44.11. KL Rahul missed the 2017 season due to a shoulder injury.

In the IPL 2018 players auction, Kings XI Punjab bagged KL Rahul for a whopping Rs 11 crore. He started the season with a bang, smashing Sunil Narine’s record for the fastest IPL fifty in 14 balls by taking one ball fewer to reach his 50. Overall, in 67 matches, KL Rahul has scored 1,977 runs at an average of 42.06 and a strike rate of 138.15, with 16 fifties and a century, his highest score in 100 not out.

The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis made his way to Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2020 after he was bought for Rs 4.8 crores during the auction. Hailing from Western Australia, Stoinis, lived up to the expectations and impressed one and all with his all-round display in IPL 2020, scoring over 350 runs and scalping 13 wickets during Delhi Capitals’ run to the final in IPL 2020.

He was subsequently retained by the Delhi franchise for IPL 2021 and the right-handed batsman and bowler, who is known for his ability to go big in the death overs, will be looking to live up to his reputation as he turns up for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021.
