Lucknow Picks KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis for IPL 2022

Two new teams start to hunting players for IPL 2022. The IPL auction is scheduled for February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. Lucknow plan to target top players in Mega auction. Reports says Lucknow picks KL Rahul as captain, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi for IPL 2022. Rahul and Punjab Kings (PBKS) split mutually despite the franchise’s intentions of retaining him.

According to a report in ESPN Cricinfo, Rahul signed the deal for Rs 15 crore, and he will be the captain for Lucknow. The franchise Lucknow spent Rs 11 crore for Stoinis and Rs 4 crore for Bishnoi, who started under KL Rahul in Punjab Kings. Ravi Bishnoi, who started under Rahul in Punjab Kings.

KL Rahul started his Indian Premier League (IPL) career for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a wicketkeeper in 2013. In 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought him for Rs 1 crore at the player auction. Then he again returned to RCB in 2016, and he scored 397 runs at an average of 44.11. KL Rahul missed the 2017 season due to a shoulder injury.

In the IPL 2018 players auction, Kings XI Punjab bagged KL Rahul for a whopping Rs 11 crore. He started the season with a bang, smashing Sunil Narine’s record for the fastest IPL fifty in 14 balls by taking one ball fewer to reach his 50. Overall, in 67 matches, KL Rahul has scored 1,977 runs at an average of 42.06 and a strike rate of 138.15, with 16 fifties and a century, his highest score in 100 not out.

The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis made his way to Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2020 after he was bought for Rs 4.8 crores during the auction. Hailing from Western Australia, Stoinis, lived up to the expectations and impressed one and all with his all-round display in IPL 2020, scoring over 350 runs and scalping 13 wickets during Delhi Capitals’ run to the final in IPL 2020.

He was subsequently retained by the Delhi franchise for IPL 2021 and the right-handed batsman and bowler, who is known for his ability to go big in the death overs, will be looking to live up to his reputation as he turns up for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021.

Rahul has been a star player since the 2018 season. He scored 2,548 runs in the last four editions for Punjab Kings. He decided to move on after 2021. Bishnoi picked up 24 wickets in his first two seasons. Stoinis was electric for the Delhi Capitals. He finished games, picked up wickets and took catches effortlessly.
