IPL 2023: CSK paid over Rs 16 crore for just 15 runs to Ben Stokes

But many players never play the game according to the amount they get. IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) paid over Rs 16 crore for just 15 runs to Ben Stokes.

Among them is England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes who can perform explosive game in international cricket. Ben Stokes, who joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore, has played only two matches and scored only 15 runs so far.

Ben Stokes may finally get another chance in the last match of the league on May 20. Because after that he will leave the Chennai Super Kings team and join his national team. England will play a Test match against Ireland, after which Ben Stokes will lead England in the Ashes series.

Stokes, who has been dealing with an injury problem, needs to be fully fit again before the home series. Ben Stokes previously played for Rising Pune Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals. His explosive game made him join Chennai Super Kings this time.

In the league match against Gujarat Titans, Stokes, who played the first match, scored only 7 runs. Then he scored only 8 runs in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. He gave 18 runs in a single over bowled. After that, due to injury, he not played any match.

Ben Stokes got Rs 16.25 crore but CSK did not get the benefit of him. A win in the last league match on May 20 will see Chennai reach the playoffs. Otherwise the results of other teams have to be relied upon. Chennai Super Kings had to lose most of the matches due to Stokes injury.

Chennai Super Kings team has so far played 13 matches, won 7 and lost 5 matches, 1 match not result. Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming is not sure about Ben Stokes playing in the last league match.
