CSK is now looking for Dhoni’s successor. Need to find someone from that group of players who have been performing well for the team in the last few seasons. One such name is young player Ruturaj Gaikwad. Apart from breaking many batting records, he led his domestic team Maharashtra to the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.

Former CSK batsman and current Super Kings coach Michael Hussey has opined that Gaikwad, who is being touted as the next big asset of Indian cricket, can become the next CSK captain. “He obviously watches Dhoni very closely. And the other impressive thing about him is he picks up things that other players don’t pick up that quickly.

He is a self-made cricketer and obviously you need help along the way and he is quite good at picking up new things from other players,” He added: “I’m not sure what the plans for the future at CSK, but like Dhoni, he is very calm.
