CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is currently leading his Indian Premier League franchise had taken a lap at his team’s home ground MS Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai after Kolkata Knight Riders beat CSK by six wickets. This was Chennai’s last game at Chapauk for the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league and there are speculations that this is Dhoni’s last IPL season.

Fans got emotional when the CSK skipper started taking a lap on the ground with them after the match. Chennai Super Kings will now face Delhi Capitals for match 67 of Indian Premier League which will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on May 20, 3.30 PM IST.

Broadcaster at the toss, Danny Morrison asked the CSK captain Ekana Stadium in Lucknow how did it feel to get such support on his swansong to which Dhoni made a cheeky remark. Replying to Morrison, Dhoni said that it was the broadcaster and the media who had decided it was his swansong and not him. “You’ve decided it is my last,” Dhoni said at the toss before bursting into laughter.

The Chennai Super Kings captain had earlier said back in 2022 that he would like to retire after touring India when IPL returns to the country. Dhoni had said that he wanted to play in front of a packed MA Chidambaram stadium before calling it quits from the Indian Premier League.

The former Indian skipper has led CSK to the playoff in 11 out of 13 seasons of IPL. Dhoni has featured in 213 matches as the captain of an IPL team. Under MS Dhoni, CSK has reached the final a record 9 times, winning the championship four times.

Chennai Super Kings will now face Delhi Capitals in their last league match in IPL 2023. Some reports says that CSK Captain MS Dhoni will announced retirement IPL 2023 CSK last match. In 199 matches as the captain of CSK, the Ranchi stalwart has led the team to 120 victories with a winning percentage of an incredible 60.61%.
