IPL 2021 Final: Eoin Morgan drops Himself Against CSK, Don’t Be Surprised said Michael Vaughan

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will square off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Both the teams had a contrasting route to the final. former England skipper Michael Vaughan has shared his take and said that he won’t be surprised if Eoin Morgan drops himself from the playing XI.

While CSK became the first time to enter the playoffs and the final, KKR had to win the Eliminator and 2nd Qualifier to make it to the summit clash. They finished at the 4th spot in the points table and weren’t confirmed to make it the 2nd round until the final game of the tournament.

KKR emerged as one of the most improved teams in the UAE leg of IPL and are now gearing up for the final. On the eve of the final, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has shared his take and said that he won’t be surprised if Eoin Morgan drops himself from the playing XI.

While Morgan has excelled on the captaincy front, he has struggled with the bat and only managed 129 runs in 16 matches. He bagged a duck in the Qualifier, where KKR struggled to chase 136.

“They have to make a call on the pitch because when they played at Sharjah, they got used to the pitch, knew the conditions, and stuck with the team. Dubai might be a different proposition, it might be a different surface. If Andre Russell can bowl four overs, they may turn to change Shakib,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

“I think he’s (Russell) a massive player, and adds 25 runs of value with his tactics, maybe more with his man-management of those younger players that we talk about. So I would certainly play him, but don’t rule it out with Eoin Morgan because he’s that kind of personality.”
