India vs England Test: KL Rahul ruled out, Lucknow Super Giants player enter team
The senior selection committee had included Karnataka's batsman Lucknow Super Giants player Devdutt Padikkal for the last three Test matches.
India vs England Test: The Indian cricket team has been announced for the final 3 Tests against England. The next matches will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on February 15-19. KL Rahul ruled out, Lucknow Super Giants player Devdutt Padikkal enter team.
The senior selection committee had included Karnataka’s batsman Lucknow Super Giants player Devdutt Padikkal for the last three Test matches. The participation of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team, BCCI said in statement.
Although KL Rahul is still not fully fit, Jadeja has reportedly been given the green signal to take the field for the crucial third Test in the series. It is learned that the medical team has told the selectors that they will observe Rahul for another week to take a decision on his availability.

Rahul was ruled out of the second Test in Visakhapatnam after suffering from right muscle spasm during the first Test in Hyderabad. Injuries and withdrawals have affected the Indian team in the ongoing series. The biggest blow for Rohit Sharma’s side is the absence of superstar Virat Kohli, who has informed the Indian board that he is out of the series due to personal reasons.
After this, Shreyas Iyer, India’s biggest batting hope lost his place in the team due to lack of runs. Another Karnataka batsman, Devdutt Padikkal, has been named in the Test squad instead of KL Rahul. Padikkal had scored 151 runs in the recent Ranji Trophy match, while selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar was watching the match between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu from the stands.

The left-handed batsman has been in fantastic form this season. After scoring 193 against Punjab in the opening Ranji match, he scored 103 against Goa. Padikkal scored 105, 65 and 21 runs in his three innings for India A in two unofficial Test matches against England Lions.
