India Tour of Zimbabwe:Team India led by KL Rahul will fly to Zimbabwe today

Mumbai: The Indian cricket team, led by Kannadigas KL Rahul, will travel to Zimbabwe on Saturday night for a 3-match ODI series. The Indian team will play 3 ODIs in Zimbabwe on August 18, 20 and 22 respectively at Harare Sports Club ground. India Tour of Zimbabwe:Team India led by KL Rahul will fly to Zimbabwe today.

Experienced left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan is the vice-captain for the team led by KL Rahul. Team India was selected for the tour of Zimbabwe even before Rahul’s availability. Then Shikhar Dhawan was chosen as the captain. But since Rahul has returned to the team as he gets fit, Kannadiga has been given the captain.


Rahul, who is fit after recovering from Sports Hernia and Covid-19, will make a comeback to international cricket with the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Rahul has not played any international matches after the last IPL tournament. Rahul was unavailable for a total of 7 series in the last 3 months due to injury and covid.


Rahul has also been selected for the Asia Cup tournament to be held in the UAE final from August 27, and will play in the series against Zimbabwe as a preliminary to that. As coach Rahul Dravid wants to rest for the tour of Zimbabwe, the head of the National Cricket Academy VVS Laxman will act as the coach of Team India.

Leader KL Rahul went to Ghati Subramanya Temple in Doddaballapur in Bangalore Rural District last Sunday and offered special pooja. Within five days of this, Rahul got good news and was selected as the captain of the Indian team. Rahul, who reached Mumbai on Wednesday on the back of the Zimbabwe tour, will travel to Zimbabwe with the team on Saturday
