Ind Vs SA 3rd T20: KL Rahul’s absence, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is likely to start India’s innings with captain Rohit Sharma. Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer will fill Virat Kohli’s place in the middle order. Team India vice-captain KL Rahul and former captain Virat Kohli for the Ind Vs SA 3rd T20 match (India Vs South Africa 3rd T20 series) to be held on Tuesday (October 4) against the tourist South Africa. He has been rested.

After regaining top form in the build-up to the ICC T20 World Cup, former captain Virat Kohli has been rested for the third T20I between India and South Africa which will be played in Indore on Tuesday. The decision has been taken considering Kohli’s workload management in mind as the top brasses feel he needs to be in the best of spirits when India open their World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.

The Indian team is already leading 2-0 in the 3-match series and has clinched the series. India won the first match of the 3-match series against South Africa by 8 wickets in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on September 28, and won the series by 16 runs in Guwahati, Assam on October 2. Thus Rahul and Virat Kohli have been rested as the third match is not important for India.

In Rahul’s absence, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is likely to open India’s innings with captain Rohit Sharma. Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer will fill Virat Kohli’s place in the middle order.
