Glenn Maxwell IPL 2024 expensive player: RCB paid Rs 27 lakh for every single runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) chapter in the current IPL 2024 tournament is over. Dream of winning the IPL trophy has been postponed to another year. Glenn Maxwell was a star player in RCB was a complete failure this season. Maxwell, who has been with RCB since 2021, has performed well in three consecutive seasons.

However, somehow he performed poorly in this season. Maxwell, who scored 513 runs in the 2021 season, 301 runs in 2022, and 400 runs in 2023, scored only 52 runs this season. RCB fans did not expect such a bad performance from Maxwell. RCB all-rounder Maxwell, who has played a total of 10 matches this season, has scored just 52 runs at an average of 5.78. There is not a single half-century in it.

RCB fans are criticizing this very poor performance of Maxwell. That’s why Maxwell is trending on Twitter. Especially Maxi is being trolled badly by linking it to the amount he got in the IPL and the runs he scored. Glenn Maxwell used to play for Punjab Kings before RCB. Punjab Kings released him in IPL 2020. Maxwell was bought by RCB for a whopping Rs 14.25 crore in the IPL 2021 auction.

It has been paying Maxwell the same amount for the past four years. However, Maxwell scored only 52 runs in this season. He was paid 14.25 crores for these 52 runs. That means if we calculate for each run, it will be Rs 27 lakh for every single runs. Maxwell is being trolled by RCB fans for being an expensive player who takes too much per run.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the toss and batted first in the match held at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. Despite losing wickets continuously, Rajat Patidar (34 runs, 22 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes), Virat Kohli (33 runs, 24 balls, 3 boundary, 1 six) and Mahipal Lomror (32 runs, 17 balls, 2 Boundaries, 2 sixes) with organized batting, amassed a competitive total of 172 runs for 8 wickets.

On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal (45 runs, 30 balls, 8 boundaries) and Ryan Parag (36 runs, 26 balls, 2 boundaries, 2 sixes) with responsible batting help scored 174 runs for 6 wickets in 19 overs and saw an exciting victory. Sanju Samson lead Rajasthan Royals have qualified for the second qualifier of the ‘semi-final’ format to be held on today May 24 and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad for the title.
