CSK player Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 7 sixes in 6 balls made an explosive double century

The teams of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are facing each other in the quarter final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy which is going on at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 7 sixes in 6 balls made an explosive double century.

Batting first in this match, the Maharashtra team lost 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs and set a huge target of 330 runs. In this match, Team India player Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was the opener for Maharashtra, scored a record double century in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ruthuraj, who punished the Uttar Pradesh bowlers flawlessly, played an unbeaten innings of 220 runs in just 159 balls.

In the 49th over of the Maharashtra innings, Ruthuraj hit a fierce form and hit 7 sixes in one over. There was also a no ball in this over and Ruthuraj hit a six in that ball too. With this, Ruthuraj has written a record of hitting 7 sixes in a single over in the history of cricket.

Shivam Singh, who came to bowl the 49th over for Uttar Pradesh, hit his first two deliveries for a six over mid-on. Ruthuraj hit the 3rd ball for a six over mid-wicket and hit the 4th ball for a six over mid-off. Then the fifth ball was a no ball and Ruthuraj hit that ball at mid-off for a six. Gaikwad, who hit a six in the free hit, hit the 6th ball over mid-off. Thus, a record 43 runs were scored in the 49th over.

Ruthuraj hit 10 fours and 16 sixes in this match and scored 136 runs only from fours. Also, Ruthuraj wrote the record of hitting 7 sixes in a single over by a player in the history of cricket. On the other hand, Shiv Singh earned the reputation of being an expensive bowler, conceding 43 runs in an over. Earlier this record was held by pacer James Fuller who scored 38 runs in a single over.
