Yuvraj Singh is make his return to competitive cricket in Australia: Details

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh will make his return to the cricket field as he will reportedly play competitive cricket in Australia later in the year. As per report the Mulgrave Cricket Club has claimed it will be signing up Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle for T20 matches.

The club is also in talks with Brian Lara and AB de Villiers. Gayle, who is currently playing for West Indies against South Africa, is the only active player on the list. The likes of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga have already joined the club.

“We’ve secured Dilshan, we’ve secured Sanath, we’ve secured Tharanga. And now we are working on finalising agreements with a few other potential players. We are in negotiations, and with Chris (Gayle) and Yuvraj we are nearly 85 to 90 per cent there.

We need to finalise a few things but it looks really good,” Milan Pullenayegam, the club’s president, was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. Yuvraj, who had retired from international cricket in 2019, has played a few tournaments since quitting international cricket. He went to Canada after his retirement and plied his trade in Global T20 Canada. Following that, he played T10 league.

As per reports, Yuvraj was also in talks to play Big Bash League but that didn’t happen. No Indian player has played Big Bash League so far. In 2021, Yuvraj joined India Legends for the Road Safety Series and was part of the Sachin Tendulkar-led side which won the tournament. Since he has played foreign leagues, Yuvraj can’t make his return to IPL.
