Big shock for Lucknow Super Giants before IPL 2022: Top player not gets NOC.

However, the board denied the seamer from a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to take part in the lucrative T20 league IPL 2022. “Since we have two important series like the ongoing home tour of South Africa and the home series against India, we feel it won’t be right for him to take part in the IPL,” BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said on Monday, as per quotes in Cricbuzz.

“We have spoken with Taskin Ahmed and he has understood the whole situation. He informed the franchise that he is not playing the IPL and will be available for the South Africa tour and later will return back home,” he further added. Previously, it was reported that Lucknow Super Giants were eyeing to sign Taskin as the replacement of injured English pacer Mark Wood.

LSG’s team mentor Gautam Gambhir called the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) office at Dhaka to enquire about the pacer’s availability. Taskin is currently in South Africa alongside the Bangladesh team, where the two nations are playing a three-match ODI series, which will be followed by a two-match Test series. The Super Giants will take on Gujarat Titans in their debut clash in the cash-rich league.
