Bengaluru girl Tilottama Sen wrote history in world shooting

14-year-old Thilottama Sen of Bengaluru won the women’s 10 m in the ongoing World Cup shooting in Cairo. She helped the Indian team win the bronze medal in air rifle shooting. Through this achievement Tilotthama has become the youngest Indian shooter to win a medal in senior shooting.

Tilotthama Sen’s father, Sujith Sen, who was watching Cartoon Network on TV during Corona, dragged his daughter to a nearby shooting range for training. Sujith Sen’s small attempt to prevent his daughter from watching TV resulted in an international shooter special.

Then Thilottama Sen surprised by participating in the senior category for the first time after winning bronze and silver medals in the junior category. Last year, he won a bronze medal in the Junior World Cup Championship held in Cairo.

In the final qualifying round of the ongoing Senior World Cup in Cairo, the Tokyo Olympian gave a tough challenge to Seonide McIntosh of England and retained the second position. Scored 632.1. Other Indian contestants Ramita Jindal and Narmada Raju also qualified for the ranking match.

Thilottama Sen competed against four Olympians in the ranking series, which consisted of shooters. Switzerland’s Nina Christian, who won a bronze medal in the 10m and a gold in the 50m 3P category at the Tokyo Olympics, was also included.

Thilottama sen’s father, Sujith Sen, works in a private company in Bangalore. Originally from Nagaland, Sujith Sen has been living in Bangalore for the past 18 years. “Tilottama Sen has been shooting for the past four years and has won everyone’s appreciation. Training costs a lot of money. A lot of money will be spent including travel and hotel. I am hereby requesting the Sports Department to provide assistance for this,” said Sujith Sen.
