BCCI favour to KL Rahul: 174 runs in last 10 innings, still in Team

Former Team India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has once again questioned the selection of KL Rahul for the Indian Test team. I have a lot of respect for Rahul’s talent and ability. But the sad thing is that what they are giving is a normal show. BCCI favour to KL Rahul: 174 runs in 10 innings, still in Team.

After 46 Tests, he has scored only 34 average runs. However, former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad questioned why he is giving consecutive opportunities. After this, Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Coach Rahul Dravid expressed their support on behalf of KL Rahul. Also he has the ability to play excellent innings.

A player identified as the most successful opener abroad. He has also scored centuries in South Africa and England pitches. Indian coach Rahul Dravid replied that there is no question of leaving Rahul. Now Team India has been selected for the third and fourth Test match. Surprisingly, he was retained in the team for KL Rahul.

Following this, Venkatesh Prasad revealed the highlights of KL Rahul’s performance through statistics. KL Rahul is said to have the best foreign Test record. But the statistics say otherwise. He has played 56 Test innings abroad and has collected runs at an average of 30. He has scored 6 foreign centuries.

But isn’t the overall run average low? Venky questioned. Venkatesh Prasad revealed that despite scoring 6 centuries here, KL Rahul failed in the rest of the innings. KL Rahul has scored only 1 century in 25 Test innings played in India. Looking at the overall statistics, Rahul has scored 2642 runs through 81 innings. That means he scored runs at an average of only 33 in Test cricket.

Also, Mayank Agarwal’s Test record is also mentioned by Venkatesh Prasad here. Mayank has the best record among Indian pitches. Scored runs at an average of around 70 in 13 innings. He also scored 2 double centuries. He also scored 150 runs on the Wankhede Stadium.

He has shown excellent batting in current domestic tournaments. However, Venkatesh Prasad raised the question of why he was not selected. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan Test figures have also been presented by Venkatesh Prasad. Dhawan has played 58 Test innings for Team India and has scored 2315 runs with 7 centuries. That means Shikhar Dhawan has accumulated runs at an average of 40 in Test cricket.

Venkatesh Prasad has indirectly questioned those who justify the selection of KL Rahul through these two figures. Also, Venkatesh Prasad expressed outrage that in the last 20 years of Indian cricket, no top-order batsman has played Test matches at such a low average.
