According to a report by Inside Sport, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) inaugural season player auction will be held on February 13 in Mumbai.

This was confirmed by a top BCCI official in Ahmedabad during the final T20 series between India and New Zealand. A total of 22 matches will be played in the inaugural season of this WPL 2023 T20 league. The team that tops the league stage will directly qualify for the finals.

The second and third place teams will compete against each other for a spot in the title round. 12 crores per team in the player auction to be held next months, a minimum of 15 players and a maximum of 18 players need to be purchased. 5 foreign players including one associate player are allowed to be included in playing-11.

The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) earned Rs 4669.99 crore from the sale of five teams of the first Women’s Premier League (WPL). Adani Sportsline maximum Rs 1289 crore for Ahmedabad team. Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have collected Rs 912.99 crore, Rs 901 crore and Rs.810 respectively. Capri Global Holdings bought the Lucknow team for Rs 757 crore.
