Land for Job scam: CBI summons Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav

The ED on Friday also conducted searches at the houses of some RJD leaders in multiple cities of Bihar in connection with the land for jobs scam. Earlier, the CBI had grilled Tejaswi Yadav’s parents and former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Former railway minister Lalu Prasad was questioned for nearly five hours in two sessions on Tuesday, while his wife Rabri Devi was grilled at her Patna residence a day earlier. The case pertains to Lalu Prasad Yadav and some of his family members allegedly receiving plots of land as bribes for jobs in Indian Railways between 2004 and 2009 when he was the railway minister. The CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the case against Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and 14 others under charges of criminal conspiracy and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, following which a Delhi court had last month issued summons to them for appearance before it on March 15.

So far, three people,Bhola Yadav, then officer on special duty to Lalu Prasad, and alleged beneficiaries Hridayanand Chaudhary and Dharmendra Rai, have been arrested in connection with the case.
