Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: Holiday declared for 3 days

Karnataka assembly election 2023 will be held on Wednesday 10-05-2023. A general holiday declared for all central and state government offices, schools, colleges and organizations to facilitate voting on that day.

In this regard, the Under Secretary of the Government has issued a notification that the polling for the Karnataka assembly elections will be held on May 10. To facilitate voting, the government has declared a general holiday for all central and state government offices, schools, colleges, various associations and private institutions, aided educational institutions on the date of election in the respective constituencies to facilitate voting.

This holiday will not apply to emergency services. All government employees deputed for election duties in the backdrop of state assembly elections shall attend election duty.

In order to facilitate the smooth conduct of voting in these constituencies, if polling booths are established in government offices and government schools, it is necessary to declare a holiday for such offices and schools on Tuesday on 09-05-2023 and on 13-05-2023 in polling centers only. If there is, the concerned election officials have been instructed to take action.
