While Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday reiterated his earlier stand on the Mekedatu project saying that there was no going back on the decision taken by the state. Exuding confidence in getting approval for a detailed project report, Bommai said those protesting against the project did not matter.

“Everybody knows that the project is for drinking water, electricity generation and to share the water during distress. I am confident that permission will be granted for DPR to go ahead with the construction. There is absolutely no compromise on this. If somebody is protesting on this issue, they are doing it for politics. We will not take them into account” said the Chief Minister.
