Delhi Assembly Election Results: The results bring an end to a hard-fought political battle in Delhi, where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been reeling from several criminal cases, facing the BJP’s buoyancy over its victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

The latest stand-off was when the AAP accused the Election Commission of not releasing boothwaru data on the eve of counting of votes. Counting of votes for Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies began amid tight security at 19 locations across the national capital on Saturday.

BJP’S Om Prakash Sharma from Viswas Nagar, Sanjay Goyal from Shahdara, Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar are leading and AAP candidate and Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai is leading from Babarpur constituency by a margin of 5602 votes, as per early trend, according to the Election Commission of India.

Most exit polls have predicted a victory for the BJP and its allies, putting it on the path of forming a government in Delhi after 28 years. The Congress has been projected to make no significant gains from last two elections, where it failed to open its tally.

The AAP, if voted to power, will form the government for the fourth consecutive time and will break the Congress’ record of a 15-year-run in the National Capital. As per leads at 10 am, the BJP is leading in 47 seats, AAP in 22 seats and Congress in 1 constituency.
