BJP state president election: In a snub to some leaders who have been pushing for the replacement of BY Vijayendra as the President of the party in Karnataka, the BJP’s high command has refused to entertain their complaints against him. According to sources, former CM Basavaraja Bommai is said to have proposed the names of the three people for the post of state President.
It is reported that leaders such as Basavaraja Bommai, CT Ravi, Dr. Sudhakar, R. Ashok and Dr. Ashwath Narayana were gathered and did short meeting regarding current issue. Meanwhile, the news that former CM and Haveri MP Basavaraja Bommai and opposition leader R. Ashok, met one of the leaders of the National Volunteer Association, caused a huge uproar in the state BJP.
According to sources, it is rumoured that the former cm Basavaraj Bommai had said that the three leaders are able to handle the post of president. During the debate, there was talk that there was no clarity about which community should be president.
The names of Union Minister V. Somanna and opposition leader R Ashok are also said to be in the reckoning for the party chief’s post. And source also said that former CM Bammai also recommended former National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party CT Ravi name for party president. Bommai said that CT Ravi was also had good nodes along with the association.
CT Ravi is one of the prominent faces of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka who was handle right way national general secretary post. He is a four-time MLA from the Chikmagalur assembly constituency CT Ravi is known for his aggressive style of politics and has a strong support base in the coastal districts of Karnataka.
