An ongoing western disturbance and an induced cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and its neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region on Saturday and then weaken on Sunday. A trough extending from Tamil Nadu to Vidarbha will contribute isolated to scattered rain in Southern and Eastern India for the next few days.

Northwest India: Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall and thunderstorm/hailstorm over Western Himalayan Region on March 25.

Central India: Isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh on March 25-26; isolated hailstorm over Vidarbha on March 25 and over Chhattisgarh on March 26.

South India: Isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe on March 25-26; isolated hailstorm over Telangana on March 25.

Northeast India: Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate heavy rainfall alert with thunderstorms and lightning to continue over Northeast India from March 25-29; isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on March 27-29.

East India: Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall and thunderstorm activity over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 25-26; over Jharkhand, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on March 26-27.

Max temperatures will be well below normal across Punjab Plains, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Eastern regions such as Chhattisgarh and Odisha starting this weekend into Monday. Overnight minimums will be warmer than normal across much of the country on Saturday night, with the exception of some western regions where minimums will remain around normal.
