Weather Alert: IMD predicts heavy rainfall alert for these parts

Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, August 14, has issued an orange alert for isolated heavy rains for East Rajasthan. Delhi NCR is likely to witness fairly widespread rain during the week. The meteorological observatory has predicted isolated heavy rains in other regions including Western Himalayan region, Uttar Pradesh and eastern India during the next seven days.

Haryana, Rajasthan and Northeast India are expected to receive isolated heavy rains for five days, the IMD said in its official statement. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema are likely to experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next five days, the Meteorological Department said in its official statement.

The weather agency has forecast fairly widespread light to moderate rain over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while parts of Jammu-Kashmir, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are likely to witness scattered widespread rain during the week.

Fairly widespread light to moderate rain is likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa and Gujarat and fairly widespread over Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch. Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada are expected to receive scattered heavy rains during the week.

The Meteorological Agency has forecast fairly widespread light to moderate rains across East India and fairly widespread rains over Northeast India during the week. Fairly widespread light to moderate rain over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep and southern hinterland of Karnataka.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana and many parts of Coastal and North Interior areas are expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall during the week.
