PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana; Free Electricity up to 300 unit for 1 crore house

Finance Minister , during Budget 2024, announced a rooftop solar power scheme where 1 crore households will get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. On February 13, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, announced via his official handle on X, the launch of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

PM Modi also posted “In order to further sustainable development and people’s wellbeing, we are launching the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. This project, with an investment of over Rs. 75,000 crores, aims to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.”

In an effort to boost solar energy and sustainable development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that his government is launching the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’.

Narendra Modi said that in order to popularize this project at the grassroots level, urban local bodies and panchayats should be encouraged to promote rooftop solar systems in their jurisdictions.
