IMD issued heavy rain alert for ten states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall during the next five days in different parts of the country. IMD issued heavy Rain Alert for ten states for next five days. Giving a sigh of relief from the heat wave conditions, IMD also said that the heat wave conditions over East India and adjoining Central India areas are likely to abate from 23 June.

As per IMD, “Heavy rainfall very likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha on 24 and 25 June. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh from June 23 -June, Coastal Karnataka from June 23 to June 26 and Interior Karnataka on June 25 and 26. According to IMD, Rajasthan is likely to witness heavy rainfalls at isolated places from June 26. 

According to IMD’s weather bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Haryana and Punjab from June 25 to June 27. Central India is likely to witness fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over the region during the next 5 days. According to IMD heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from June 23 to June 27.

 IMD in its weather bulletin announced the abatement of heatwave from the entire India on June 23.”Heatwave conditions had abated from entire country,” stated IMD. Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated thunderstorm and lightning very likely during next five days.

Extremely Heavy rainfall likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya on 22 June. Heavy rainfall also likely over Bihar, Jharkhand on 22nd June; Gangetic West Bengal on 22nd & 23rd June; and Odisha during 22-26 June with isolated very heavy falls over Odisha 23rd and 24th June.

IMD has predicted light to moderate fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorm & lightning over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh during 23-26 June and isolated to scattered rainfall over plains of Northwest India on 24 and 26th June.

IMD has also predicted light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorm and lightning very likely over the South India during the next five days. Heavy rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh during 21-25 June and Coastal and North Interior Karnataka on 24 and 25 June.

IMD in its latest weather update has predicted light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorm and lightning very likely over West India during 22-24 June. Heavy rainfall is also very likely over South Konkan and Goa during 23-26 June and over Madhya Maharashtra during 24-26 June.
