Heavy rainfall alert in these south states in next 3 days

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday warned that heavy rainfall is likely to over South states in India during next 2-3 days. The weather department further stated that the south west monsoon will further recede from some more parts of northwest India and some parts of adjoining central India during next 2-3 days.

Indian Meteorological Department also said heavy rainfall alert accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana and Rayalaseema during 28-30 September. Similar conditions will remain over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on 28 and 29 September. Further the North Interior Karnataka will also very likely witness moderate to heavy rainfall on 29 and 30 September

Moderate to heavy rainfalls very likely over Odisha on 29 September and 1 and 2 October and over Jharkhand and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim on 2 October. Moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is also very likely to occur over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 2 October.

The weather department also notified of the withdrawal of monsoon from some more parts of northwest India and some parts of adjoining central India during the next 2-3 days. Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of northwest India and some parts of adjoining central India during next 2-3 days.

Under its influence, scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana during 27th- 30th and over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 27th & 28th September.

Meanwhile, IMD issued heavy rainfall alert fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 27th and Odisha on 28th & 29th September.

Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 27th and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 29th & 30th September.
