Increase in dearness allowance benefit to 1 crore families:
When the dearness allowance is increased, the basic pay of the employees will increase substantially. The DA hike has not been officially announced by the government yet. But it is expected that an announcement about this will definitely be made early next month.
Narendra Modi government will increase the dearness allowance of central government employees as soon as possible. Through this, there will be a good increase in the salary of the employees. Based on AICPI data, DA is expected to increase by around 4 percent this time as well.
However, according to source it is also said that DA increases only by 3 percent. The clarification about this will come out only after the notification of the government. Source suggest that the government may announce the hike in DA before the festive season Navratri begins. The increase will be effective from July 1, 2023.
Generally, the government increases the gratuity twice every year. The increase will be effective from January 1 and July 1. During the Corona pandemic, the central government had suspended the increase in basic pay of employees. The amount of arrears of allowance for this period has not yet been paid.
The central government employees are constantly demanding to give this. Now it is said that the central government can fulfill this demand. Now if the gratuity hike is announced for July 2023, the employees will get the arrears from July 1 along with their salary.

Calculation of DA Increase on Minimum Basic Pay 18,000 :
Basic salary of employees – Rs 18,000 per month
New gratuity (46%) – Rs 8280 per month
Previous Depreciation Allowance (42%) – Rs. 7560
DA increase – 8280-7560 – Rs. 720
Annual salary increase is 720X12 – Rs.8640
Calculation of DA increase in maximum basic pay of Rs 56,900:
Basic salary of employees – Rs.56,900 per month
New gratuity (46%) – Rs 26,174 per month
New Tax Allowance (42%) – Rs. 23,898
Increase in dearness allowance – 26,174-23,898 – Rs. 2,276
Increase per year = 2276X12- Rs. 27,312.
