The wages of the transport employees of all four corporations (KSRTC, BMTC, Kalyan Karnataka Transport, North West Karnataka Transport) have been increased. The transport workers had called for a strike from March 21, demanding an increase in wages. But the demand of the transport workers was that the basic salary should be increased by 25%.

However, the government had said on March 28 that it would increase the wages by 15 percent. Now the government has issued an official order accordingly. Employees of transport companies they called for strike by suspending bus service from 24th. In the background, Transport Minister B. Sriramulu held a meeting with office-bearers of transport employees’ organizations, senior officials of the transport department and officials of all the four corporations.

The financial situation of the state government is not good. Therefore, in the meeting, Sriramulu tried to convince the transport workers’ organizations that the salary will be increased by 8% of the basic salary. However, the officials of the organizations did not agree. At last He had promised a 10 percent pay rise. However, even the transport workers did not relax. Finally, CM Basavaraja Bommai convinced the transport workers by saying that he would increase the fare by 15%.
