Corona Effect: Mangalore city corporation at frontline to Central Market Demolition

MANGALORE: Corona has been haunting Mangaluru. The District administration and Mangaluru city corporation are taking precautionary measures to block Corona.
The Mangaluru Central Market Building is now open.

Two buildings of central vegetable and fisheries have reached the dilapidated condition and are in dire straits. Thus, the Mangaluru city corporation Central Market has been cleared of old buildings to facilitate trade in terms of health and hygiene.

Plans are afoot to build a new building in the same area. With the spread of coronavirus in Mangaluru, the social gap in the Central Market was difficult to bridge. The market has already shifted to Bikampady’s APMC market, in order to create a social gap in the old building.
Traders are also shifting to the APMC market.

And the Commissioner of corporation himself, has said that he will not be allowed to continue trading in the Central Market Building for any reason. In the wake of Corona, the corporation is in place to urgently demolish the old building.
