Karnataka government new bill: 12 hour duty per day, night shift for ladies

Karnataka Assembly: The Karnataka state government has passed a bill in the assembly that women can work in any shift of the day. Karnataka government new rules: 12 hour duty per day, night shift for ladies.

Henceforth women workers can also work in night shift in factories. Also, the current 9 hour working period has been increased to 12 hours. In this regard, the state government has passed a bill in the assembly that women can work in any shift of the day.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhuswamy presented the Factories Bill-2023 in the Assembly. This Act has been enacted with the objective of increasing economic activities and employment opportunities. Equality and equal opportunity in employment will be given to women.

If you are interested in doing night shift then you should hire for night shift work only. They cannot be pressured to do night shift. The bill states that factories will have to provide more safety to women during night work.

 It would also enable female employees to be employed on night shifts, after obtaining written consent from those who are interested to work in night shifts and ensuring safety measures.
