Heavy rains are likely to occur in many districts including Bengaluru due to depression in the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be moderate rain in the northern hinterland and coastal districts of Karnataka, and heavy rain is likely to occur in the southern hinterland and yellow alert for the southern hinterland districts has been announced.

The Meteorological Department said that yellow alert has been announced due to heavy rain in coastal districts like Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts on November 14. Yellow alert has been announced for rain on November 13 and 14 in many districts of southern hinterland of Karnataka.

Thunderstorms are likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today while heavy rain is expected over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Thunderstorms are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim and Coastal Karnataka.

Orange Alert has been declared in many districts of Tamil Nadu during which fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Heavy rain will continue till November 13. It is likely to decrease by 14th. Not only Tamil Nadu but also other states of South India will receive rain today. Orange Alert has been issued from today till November 13 as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are likely to receive heavy rains.
