Heavy Rainfall will continue in state till December 16 Yellow Alert has been announced in many districts. Heavy rain is expected in Karnataka including Bengaluru till December 16. Yellow alert has been announced for Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts. Heavy rainfall is predicted in these districts.

Still, the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Bagalkote, Belgaum, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppala, Raichur, Vijayapur, Haveri, Gadag and Bellary districts of North Karnataka have forecast moderate rainfall.

A holiday has been declared for schools in Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts on Monday due to Cyclone Mandous precautionary measures. Heavy cold weather has developed in the state amid heavy rainfall, many people are facing health problems. As people are not coming out of their homes, the state is experiencing a very cold weather and people have resorted to sweaters and hats.

As of Monday morning, the cyclonic circulation persists over North Interior Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Interior Karnataka and Kerala, albeit as a well-marked low-pressure area. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to ride the peninsula to the west coast while weakening further and re-emerge into the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea off the north Kerala-Karnataka coast.

Under its influence, a low-pressure area will likely form over the same region around Tuesday (December 13) and move west-northwestwards away from the Indian coast thereafter. These remnants will ensure that rainy weather continues over the southern peninsular for a while.
