Gruha Jyothi Scheme: Check here are you eligible for free bill

The ‘Gruha Jyothi Scheme’, which provides free electricity up to 200 units, is being implemented this month. Energy Minister KJ George said that the project will be officially launched on August 5. Registration for the scheme started on July 1 and those registered till July 27 will get ‘zero’ bill if they have consumed electricity within the average limit in the month of July. Those who register after July 27 will be considered for August billing. Energy Minister KJ George said on Tuesday that consumers who have registered for the scheme have started getting ‘zero’ bills.

10 per cent is added to the same by taking into account the average of 12 month electricity consumption units of the customer. If it is less than 200 units, such customers are eligible for the scheme, the government said.

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme:

The programme is exclusively available to Karnataka residents.

Every household with a current power connection is eligible for the programme.

Any resident who uses 200 units or less of power per month, regardless of caste, is eligible to enrol for the programme.

To qualify for the benefits, applicants must have an active household power connection in their name.

First of all, go to the official website

The homepage of the website will open on the screen

Click on the Beneficiary tab followed by the Check Status option

A new page will open on the screen

Now, enter your registered application number

After that, click on the check status button and the status will open on your screen.
