In this regard, Government of the Department of Finance Under Secretary has issued an order. The Government is pleased to grant an interim compensation of 17% of the basic pay with effect from 1st April 2023 to the state government employees drawing pay in the revised pay scales of 2018.

Basic pay for the purpose of interim compensation is the pay received by the government employees in the pay scale applicable to the post held.

The government employees have decided to hold a protest from today, condemning the state government’s policy of cancelling the new pension policy and not announcing the salary revision of the government employees in the budget. 5.11 lakh employees have gone on indefinite strike by absenting themselves from duty. School-college, waste disposal, revenue and health services are likely to be suspended. Village panchayat staff, urban local bodies, permanent civic workers of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

Deputy registrar’s office staff will also join the strike. Due to this, officers and staff from Village Accountant to Additional Collector are absent from work and almost all services will be interrupted.
