Domestic stock markets will close on this day in India

Domestic stock markets will not function on January 26 due to the country’s 74th Republic Day. National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will also be closed. Domestic stock markets will close on this day in India. January 26 is also included in the list of trading holidays in the BSE calendar.

Weekend days are not included in this list. Because the country stock markets generally operate only from Monday to Friday. Trading takes place from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Maha Shivratri, Eid ul Fitr, Muharram and Diwali, Lakshmi Puja are not included in the holiday list as they fall on weekends this year.

Stock markets are off on Republic Day every year. As it is the day on which the Constitution of India came into existence, the government conducts various programs on that day. Various events including Republic Day Parade will be held. Stock markets also have a holiday due to events across the country. So it is better for investors to plan their transactions accordingly.

BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended the trade with a slight recovery by the close of trade on Tuesday. BSE recovered 37.08 points to trade at 60,978.75 points. The NSE Nifty recovered 29 points to close at 18,118.30. Tata Motors share value increased by 3.26 percent.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki registered a gain of 3.23. The company’s share value saw a jump on the back of a substantial increase in quarterly profit. HCL Tech, HDFC Twins, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, TCS and ITC also saw growth in share value. Shares of Axis Bank, L&T, Reliance Industries, SBI, Kotak Bank, Tata Steel and Power Grid declined.
