First monkey disease of the year detected in Chikkamagaluru
A person from Balehonnur was suffering from fever and was sent to TIST by the health department. It is said that this disease is spread by blood-sucking insects like bees, fleas, wasps, mosquitoes etc. If the virus infects animals like monkeys, hyenas etc. in forest areas, there is a possibility that it can easily spread to other animals through honey, fleas etc. An insect called the red flea spreads KFA very rapidly.
