Cyclone Warning: Heavy rainfall alert in these parts for next 3 days

Andaman and Nicobar Islands received moderate to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Goa, Coastal Maharashtra and South Central Maharashtra received light to moderate rains, leading to flash flooding at some places.

Cyclone Warning: Low pressure over East Central Arabian Sea near north coast of Karnataka, South Konkan and Goa. As a result, heavy rains are likely to occur for the next 3 days, the report said. Also due to cyclonic circulation over Myanmar and East Central Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has also formed over East Central Bay of Bengal.

It will rain in the state for 3 days from today and orange alert has been announced for many districts. There is a possibility that rain will start in Bengaluru from this evening. Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Kolar, Tumkur districts have been declared yellow alert for 3 days.

End of monsoon in the state: Only 4 taluks out of 236 taluks have maximum rainfall

Southwest Monsoon has ended today in the state. Generally, the period from June 1 to September 30 is called Monsoon. Out of the 236 taluks of the state, only 4 taluks have received maximum rainfall during this four-month period. Indian Meteorological Department has released a list in this regard.

Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Chamarajanagar, Tumkur, Ramanagara, Kolar, Bellary, Bagalkote and Vijayapur districts are in the rain deficit list during this period. There is lack of rain in 146 taluks of 23 districts. 86 talukas of 8 districts received moderate rainfall. Dakshina Kannada district has joined this list after yesterday’s rain. This monsoon has caused heavy losses and suffering to the farmers especially in August.
