Mandya : An FIR has been lodged against JDS leader Shrikanthe Gowda, his son and three others in the west police station of Mandya on charges of opposition to the COVID-19 test for journalists.
As a fear of corona virus outbreak, State government orders all journalists to conduct coronavirus tests. Corona Test for journalists to be held at Ambedkar Bhavan, Mandya.
However, MLC Srikanthe gowda’s residence near Ambedkar Bhavan has made a mark with locals not to conduct a test here. He has also ordered to stop the COVID test.
Not only that, while proceeding to the camp, the Vidhan Sabha member, Srikanthegowda’s son, has assaulted the people. This made camp impossible. In this backdrop, Mandya police have filed a case based on a written complaint by journalists.
Corona was inspected for 15 journalists yesterday and today 27 journalists are being examined for corona, said Mandya District Collector Dr MV Venkatesh.
