Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway: Pro-Kannada organizations call for strike on June 24

Pro- Kannada organizations will protest in front of Kanminike Toll from 10:30 AM to 6 PM tomorrow (June 24) to protest against the increase in Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway toll rates. Hundreds of activists of pro-Kannada organizations, drivers and farmers will participate in Saturday’s protest.

Mysuru–Kodagu MP Pratap Simha defended the toll rate hike. It is normal for the toll to increase when the financial year starts in the entire country. The toll rate for this highway was supposed to increase in April. It wasn’t then. Now it has increased by 22 percent.

And in the beginning of toll collection there was a problem with fast tag, now there is no problem. He said that it is mandatory to pay double charge if there is no fast tag. In Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway the one-way fare for cars, vans and jeeps has increased from 135 to 165 (Rs. 30).

While the one-way fare for light vehicles and mini buses has increased from 220 to 270 (Rs. 50). 460 to 565 rupees for one way traffic of truck, bus, 2 axle vehicle. (Rs 105) has increased. 3 axle vehicles rate is 500 to 615 (Rs 115 increased) for one-way, heavy vehicles 720 to 885 (Rs. 165) for one-way, 880 to 1,080 (Rs. 200) for 7 or more axle vehicles.
