Yatnal alleges ‘ Yatindra also collecting money in transfers

Vijayapura: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Monday launched a scathing attack on leaders across party lines, alleging “collection politics” and predicting possible dissolution of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly amid intensifying political friction.
Addressing reporters in Vijayapura district, Yatnal claimed that just as B. Y. Vijayendra allegedly wielded influence during the tenure of former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa, similar activities were now being mirrored by the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He alleged that “collection networks” were operating behind the scenes and accused leaders of prioritising personal power struggles over governance.
Without providing evidence, Yatnal further claimed that internal rivalry between Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar could escalate. “The tussle for the top post may even lead to dissolution of the Assembly. There is a ‘do or die’ situation for some leaders,” he said, adding that political instability cannot be ruled out if the infighting deepens.
He also took a swipe at Vijayendra’s recent remark advising leaders to focus on their own constituencies. Reacting to the comment, Yatnal said leaders should first “secure their own political base” before offering advice to others. Referring to Shikaripura, Vijayendra’s constituency, he remarked that political uncertainty there should be addressed first.
The BJP MLA further criticised what he described as rising incidents of land encroachment and attacks on Hindu temples in the state, asserting that “strong action” was required to maintain order. His remarks, laced with sharp political sarcasm, are likely to intensify the ongoing war of words within Karnataka’s political circles.
Yatnal has often made outspoken statements targeting both his political opponents and members within his own party. His latest comments come at a time when speculation over leadership ambitions and internal equations within major parties continues to dominate the state’s political discourse.
There has been no immediate response from the leaders named in his allegations.
