Bengaluru : Allegations surrounding a suspected “love jihad” case have surfaced in the state capital, triggering fresh political and social debate. A model and aspiring actress has accused a man of harassment, assault, and coercion to convert, claims that have gone viral on social media and drawn sharp reactions from various quarters.
The incident is reported to have taken place in Fraser Town, where the victim alleged that a youth identified as Juhaib physically assaulted her after she refused his repeated proposals for marriage. The matter came to light after the woman shared a video on social media detailing her ordeal. The video, widely circulated on platforms including X through an account named “KarnatakaPortfolio,” shows the victim with visible injuries on her face and head.

According to the victim, she first came in contact with the accused through the modelling industry. What began as a professional acquaintance reportedly turned into persistent harassment. She alleged that since 2024, the accused had been pressuring her to marry him and convert her religion. Despite her refusal, he continued to pursue her aggressively.
The situation escalated recently when the accused allegedly threatened her with dire consequences. “If you do not marry me, I will kill you,” he is said to have warned in multiple instances. The victim further claimed that the accused sent threatening WhatsApp messages, including statements such as “She must die” and “I will kill her,” reflecting a pattern of intimidation.
The assault reportedly took place when the victim was in Fraser Town, where the accused allegedly attacked her, causing serious injuries to her face and the back of her head. In the viral video, the woman can be seen narrating the sequence of events while showing her injuries, which has intensified public outrage.
Following the incident, the victim approached the Fraser Town Police Station and lodged a formal complaint. Taking cognisance of the seriousness of the allegations, the police have arrested the accused and initiated an investigation. Officials stated that further inquiry is underway to verify all aspects of the case, including the alleged motive and digital evidence.
The case has once again brought the contentious issue of so-called “love jihad” into focus, with calls for strict action and a thorough probe.
