KMF Revises Nandini Butter and Ghee Prices With New Rates Effective From July Twenty Four
KMF has increased the prices of Nandini butter and ghee citing higher production packaging and transport costs with revised rates taking effect across Karnataka from July Twenty Four.
Consumers across Karnataka will have to pay more for Nandini butter and ghee as the Karnataka Milk Federation has announced a revision in prices. The updated rates will come into effect from July Twenty Four and will be applicable at all KMF outlets across the state.
The price of Nandini ghee has been increased by Rs 15 per kilogram, while butter will now cost Rs 22 more per kilogram. The decision marks another price revision for dairy products and is expected to have a direct impact on both household spending and commercial food businesses.
KMF has explained that the increase was necessary due to rising operational expenses. According to the federation, higher procurement and management costs, increased prices of packaging materials and growing transportation expenses have made the revision unavoidable. Despite the hike, the organisation maintains that Nandini products remain competitively priced when compared with similar offerings from private brands.
The revised prices are expected to affect more than just retail consumers. Hotels, bakeries, sweet manufacturers and restaurants that rely heavily on butter and ghee for daily operations are also likely to experience increased production costs. Many businesses may have to review their pricing strategies if input costs continue to rise.
The timing of the price increase has also drawn attention as it comes ahead of the festive season, including the celebration of Varamahalakshmi. With demand for dairy products traditionally rising during festivals, many consumers have expressed concern over the added financial burden on monthly household budgets.
The new prices announced by KMF include Ghee Sachet Five Hundred Millilitres at Rs 358, Ghee Sachet One Litre at Rs 715, Ghee Pet Jar Five Hundred Millilitres at Rs 268, Ghee Pet Jar One Litre at Rs 735 and Ghee Tin One Litre at Rs 750.
For butter products, the revised prices are Butter Blister Pack Ten Grams at Rs 600 per kilogram equivalent, Salted Butter One Hundred Grams at Rs 70, Salted Butter Five Hundred Grams at Rs 310, Unsalted Butter Two Hundred Grams at Rs 135 and Unsalted Butter Five Hundred Grams at Rs 330.
The latest revision has sparked criticism from sections of the public, with many pointing to the growing cost of essential food items. While KMF insists the increase is driven by unavoidable operational costs, consumers and businesses alike will now have to adjust to the higher prices as the revised rates officially take effect across Karnataka.
