The Karnataka government has released the 33rd installment of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, sanctioning Rs 2,482 crore for distribution to beneficiaries. According to Dinesh Gooligowda, Vice-Chairman of the State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, the funds will be credited to the bank accounts of 1.24 crore women across the state within the next two days.

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, one of the Karnataka government’s flagship welfare initiatives, continues to provide financial assistance to women heads of households. Announcing the release, Gooligowda said the timely disbursement ahead of the Dasara festival would offer significant financial relief to economically weaker families.

With the release of the 33rd installment, each beneficiary will have received a total of Rs 66,000 under the scheme. Before this, beneficiaries had received 32 installments, amounting to Rs 64,000.

Since the launch of the scheme, the Karnataka government has disbursed a total of Rs 79,433 crore to 1.29 crore women beneficiaries. Gooligowda stated that the financial assistance would provide much-needed economic security and support to women, particularly during the current drought-like conditions affecting parts of the state.
