Five-storey building collapses in Bengaluru

A five-storey building collapsed in Bengaluru Kasturi Nagara on Thursday. No casualties and injuries have been reported so far. A search is underway to find out if anyone has been trapped under debris. There were many flats in the apartment complex.

The apartment building was leaked several days ago. The locals noticed this and also informed the BBMP officials. The residents were evacuated a few days ago as a precautionary measure. There were eight houses in this apartment, three of which were inhabited by people. But as the building collapsed, people in the house and neighbours came running outside.

This has led to no casualties. The BBMP did not issue a permit as the apartment construction business was poor. Even then, the building owners had sold the flats. Also, some families were allowed to rent. Against this backdrop, BBMP officials have filed a criminal case against the building owner. Police and firefighters are on the scene and mocking up.
