Schools in Karnataka’s udupi district Brahmavara, Byndoor, Kundapura taluk have been closed due to heavy rains as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been issued heavy rainfall alert.

Assistant commissioner Kundapura Rashmi S R who issued the order declared holiday for all Anganwadis and schools in the district. And as per the order, holiday has been declared for Anganwadis, government, aided and private primary and high schools.

Isolated heavy rains are likely in Chikkamagalur and Shivamoga districts and light to moderate rains are likely at some places in the remaining districts of South Karnataka. Schools have been closed in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada Bantwala and Belthangadi taluk due to heavy rains as the IMD has issued an alert for Coastal Karnataka.

Has declared a holiday for all Anganwadis and schools in the taluks and according to the order, a holiday has been declared for Anganwadis, government, aided, and private primary and high schools. Wind speed is likely to reach 30-40 kmph with heavy rain/thunderstorm in Belgaum and Dharwad districts.

And moderate rain/thunderstorm with wind speed (30-40 kmph) likely. The weather will be like this in some places of North Inner Karnataka. On July 4, scattered heavy rains are likely in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. Heavy rain and wind speed of 30-40 kmph are likely in Shimoga district.

And light to moderate rain at few places with sustained wind speed of 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at some places over Bellary and districts of South Karnataka. Sustained wind speed is likely to reach 30-40 kmph with heavy rain/thunderstorm over Belgaum district. And light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with sustained winds reaching wind speed (30-40 kmph) is likely.
